We’ve been working hard on selecting and translating the best sketches ideas we found, into a series of drawings to show you.  I didn’t think it would be an easy process, and it is not, especially that we had to deal with a time constrain and with running through a check list of guides to follow. Things like “is it gentry enough”, “does it resemble any evolution or sophistication principle”, “somewhat minimal”, somewhat Scandinavian in some cases”, or “dandy” and “exotic”, where constant  questions along these two weeks.

I know you are anxious to see something and we’re almost done with the first , most important step, so please bear with us a bit more, and this week you get to choose the ones you want to be painted for you.

The last bunch of paintings has left the studio already. We would love to know how you like the stuff you received. Let us know in the comments here or send us an email. Sending us photos of your framed paintings would be awesome if you can afford.

2. The eBook

The Once Upon a Paper Haiku eBook is ready to download. You need a password to access the file. Enjoy! We plan on adding new pages in time. And we are thinking to allow our wonderful backers to a second edition that includes the Gentry Birds.

I’m so happy to report that you made this happen, and pushed our fundraising to  135% of our goal. Thank you to everyone who contributed financially, told a friend about this project, promoted, shared or recommended it to social circles. Although it looks like a small deal, it is not! It is a big success for us and a new impuls.

So, after all this, it’s time to get to work! We’ll be digging, selecting, drafting, designing, and finally painting the starting of the Gentry Birds Collection.  We’re planning to come back to you in about a couple of weeks time with a portfolio of sketches and maybe some more paintings, so you can choose from. Also, a survey will be in your e-mailbox to collect your address and desired painting details.
